About the role

James Watson is home for up to 40 men at any given time who have experienced chronic homelessness, including some who have aged prematurely as a result of their experiences with homelessness. Residents range in age from those in their 50s to those in their 90s. Many James Watson Centre residents, either as a result of their past experiences with homelessness and/or their age, have complex needs and benefit from the blend of clinical and trauma-informed support the facility and our staff provide.

The Registered Nurse is a critical role within James Watson Centre, which is a hands on role to ensure our residents receive high quality, safe and effective care however also supervise and direct the care team to provide 24 hour care.

We are seeking full-time, part-time and casual positions.

Taking into consideration the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful applicant the base salary offered for this position spans from $34.95 to $36.71 per hour plus penalties and superannuation.

As a not-for-profit employee you will also be able to salary sacrifice up to $15,900, which allows you to pay for personal expenses with pre-tax earnings so you pay less tax and your take home pay increases.

About you

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with at least one year experience within Aged Care. In order to be successful in the role, you will need to have great communication skills and the ability to identify clinical risk in the aged care setting and lead a clinical team outside of our core business hours, especially given the complex needs of our residents.
